How do our memberships work?

If you choose to sign up to our membership you have the option to select a 1 day, 2 day or 3 day membership subscription. This means that you can book in your dog for the selected amount of days each week and you will be invoiced weekly. You have the ability to pause these memberships for up to 3 weeks per year.

If you don’t want to commit to booking in your dog every week, then our concession cards will be the best option for you. This is a pay in full upfront cost that must be used within 6 months. We have a 5 day and a 10 day pass available.

Why do the dogs need to have nap time by themselves? Can’t they play with their friends all day…

Dogs need a lot more rest and sleep than what most of us may know, think about a time when you have worked from home with your dog…what are they mostly doing? Sleeping right? A common misconception is that “a tired dog is a happy dog”. We want to get the right balance of a happy and tired dog, not an over-tired and stressed one. Think of your friends over-tired toddler having a hissy fit because they have to put their shoes back on. Dogs can be the same, meaning behavioral issues can occur from being over-tired or stressed. Who doesn’t like a nap anyway?

What does a normal day at WAG look like?

• We will be welcoming your doggos from 7am and expect to quiet off around 9am

• We will assign them to a small group of similar fur friends (small dogs will be grouped together where possible) and get them settled in

• For any newbies, once they are comfortable we will slowly introduce them to their group, one dog at a time

• Throughout the day they will rotate between nap time in our custom-built boutique dog houses (usually 1 hour at a time) and then out in their play groups for the next hour

• When they are out in their play groups, they will participate in fun puzzle games to stimulate their brains and play with their friends. They will also get lots of cuddles, attention and chill time with our staff.

• All dogs will be put away to settle before peak pick up times all ready to greet you with their slobbery smiles

My dog has never been to a daycare, how do I know they will be ok?

We want to be transparent and acknowledge that daycare is not for all dogs and some may not like it. This is why we have a one day trial for your dog, we will report back to you on how your dog was in the day care environment. If we think your dog is stressed and not coping, we will inform you and suggest alternative ideas for you. This may be a dog walker or a house sitter/visitor.

Where do the dog’s toilet?

They toilet on the concrete floor which we then mop up with a specific solution, or we bag up any solids which are all disposed of. At the end of the day the play area is also sprayed with a disenfectant solution to ensure the area is clean to the highest standard.

What is the Daycare Assessment session for and what do you do?

The Daycare Assessment is to ensure the health & safety for all dogs and WAG staff. We will collect information about your dog’s history, nature, temperament and play stlye etc. Vaccination records are reviewed. We will interact with your dog to see what level of training it has received, their temperament and how social it is. The Daycare Assessment is designed to see if your dog is a good fit for a daycare.

At WAG, the health and safety for your dog is the most important factor. If we feel that your dog is not suitable for our daycare we will talk to you and discuss other options.

What are your daycare requirements and criterias?

Please refer to our “Daycare page” to read more about our day to day requirements and criteria.

How often should I take my dog to daycare?

We do not allow dogs to attend more than 3 days per week. Everything in moderation, right? Too much of a good thing can start to have a negative effect. If you feel that your dog needs more than 3 days a week please speak to us and we can recommend some alternative options for you and your dog.

Can you feed my dog while at daycare?

Yes we can feed your dog during the day. This needs to be detailed in your profile and food must be supplied, clearly labelled with directions.
